Fun Dino Facts

Anklosaurus

  • Ankylosaurus was a heavily armored dinosaur with a large club-like protrusion at the end of its tail.
  • Ankylosaurus lived in the late Cretaceous Period, about 65.5 million to 66.8 million years ago,
  • They also lived in Western United States and Alberta, Canada.
  • They were a herbivorous dinosaur
  • The Ankylosaurus had a massive tail club that it could use to generate a large amount of force, potentially breaking the bones of another dinosaur while defending itself.

Tyrannosaurus Rex

  • The Tyrannosaurus Rex is a type of theropod dinosaur.
  • Tyrannosaurus Rex’s are largely regarded as the most 'fiercest of dinosaurs’, but also the most famous. This notion is substantiated by the Chicago museum purchases of theTyrannosaurus Sue fossil for $8 million
  • The Rex was one of the largest of the land predator dinosaurs. The T-rex measured up to 43 feet long and weighed as much as 7.5 tons.
  • The T-rex ate meat from other animals and dinosaurs, however, there is much debate over whether the Tyrannosaurus Rex was a predator (hunted and killed it's own food) or whether it was a scavenger (meaning it stole food from other predators).
  • They had a life span of 30 years
  • Could eat around 500 pounds of meat in one single bite

Stegosaurus

  • Stegosaurus’ are the most famous dinosaurs from the Stegosauria family
  • They were all herbivores (plant eaters) and had a unique structure of spiked bones on their spine - a key characteristic of their build
  • Stegosaurus fossils have been found mainly in Western North America
  • However, fossils have also been founded more recently in Portugal - indicating that they roamed European land as well
  • a fully grown Stegosaurus was around 9 metres (30ft) in length, 4 metres (14ft) in height and up to nearly 5 metric tons in weight.
